big brothers big sisters helps children realize their potential and build their futures. we nurture children and strengthen communities. for 50 years, big brothers big sisters of grand island has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. most children served by big brothers big sisters live in single-parent and low-income families, or households where a parent is incarcerated. as part of the nation's largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, big brothers big sisters of grand island makes meaningful, monitored matches between volunteers ("bigs") and children ("littles"), ages 6 through 18, in hall, hamilton, howard & merrick counties. we develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. vision: to help all children achieve success in life mission: to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships with me
