big leaf capital exists to develop the caribbean carbon removal economy. there have been no historical or current carbon removal projects in the caribbean. this is not from a lack of potential or community predisposition to environmental stewardship, but rather from a lack of investment and pathways to make those investments. national governments have not even begun analyzing the potential of carbon credits. establishing those pathways in lockstep with underfunded environmental project developers, eager buyers, and investors who want to do good and well provides a unique case study in unlocking the caribbean’s economic potential by focusing on its natural capital. we aim to offtake high-quality carbon removal credits from project developers, be they risk capital-backed entrepreneurs or existing conservation groups, with the flexibility of structure to allow the project to scale and deliver material amounts of carbon credits at a discount to big leaf capital. as carbon credit prices
