Business Espionage Controls & Countermeasures Association (Becca)

"the purpose of the association is to research and exchange information about business espionage controls and countermeasures, to establish and encourage a code of ethics within the profession, and to promote a professional image within the business community through a certified confidentiality officer (cco) program. (articles of incorporation, article iii) june, 1990 as one of becca's early undertakings, dr. william m. johnson, executive director of becca, took part in a research project to "adopt a strategy to establish job-related (and industry-specific) skill standards, built around core proficiencies , and to develop skill certificates to accompany these standards." the research project was cosponsored by the u.s. departments of labor and education (federal register/vol.57/march 18, 1990), and developed becca's certified confidentiality officer (cco) program which was cited at the national educational leadership conference in 1992.
