established in 2006; the butterfly children’s hospices seek to promote and practise high-quality, culturally-sensitive children’s palliative care. throughout china and the world, many children are diagnosed with terminal illnesses or life limiting disabilities. these children face unique medical and emotional challenges while their families are burdened with grief, confusion and enormous medical expenses. dedicated palliative care and a comfortable, positive environment can reduce the suffering of these children. our purpose is to provide these environments for as many children and their families as our funding and expertise allows. our vision is to promote excellence in children’s palliative and hospice care in china (and other similar locations) through leadership, collaboration, advocacy, and education. we will achieve this vision by: supporting the complex physical, emotional and social needs of children and their families continuing to work in cooperation with the government to es
