st. aidan’s church of england high school is a large and flourishing mixed comprehensive school of 1900 pupils managed jointly between north yorkshire county council and the diocese of ripon and leeds. it situated in a residential area adjacent to the ‘stray’, an historic area of parkland surrounding the town of harrogate in north yorkshire. established 37 years ago, for the last 34 years it has enjoyed an increasingly successful sixth form association with st. john fisher roman catholic high school and has become the largest school based 6th form in the country. st. aidan’s was designated as a beacon school in 1998 and achieved specialist school status in science in 2003 and languages in 2007. in addition, due to extensive and active working links with schools in sri lanka, france, spain, germany, canada and australia the school attained international school recognition. in addition, in 2009, st aidan's was judged to have the 'best school dinners' at the national t.e.s. awards. 4 sepa
