st catherine’s hospice is a well-renowned local charity working to support people in central lancashire who are affected by life-shortening conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure. working at the hospice, in the community and at home, we’re here to help people enjoy the best possible quality of life and, when the time comes, to have comfort and dignity in death. in 2015 we celebrated our 30th anniversary. we are proud of our heritage as a local charity built by the community, for the community, and could not survive without their on-going support in fundraising and volunteering. it costs around £5.2m to run our services each year for a population of approximately 380,000 people across chorley, preston and south ribble. of this, a huge £3.5m must be raised through charitable giving. money is raised in a variety of ways including fundraising events, donations, the st catherine’s hospice lottery, our 16 shops and legacy gifts. we also work hard to raise awarenes
