St. Louis Surge Women's Basketball Team

the surge is the professional women’s basketball team in st. louis, missouri, competing in the women’s blue chip basketball league (wbcbl). we are 3-peat regional champions and 2-time national champions, making head coach tony condra the most decorated head coach of the surge. the surge is heading into our strongest season yet as we begin our 7th season under its current management. the surge has been a part of the wbcbl since 2008, which was a professional woman’s league that consists of 40 member teams from major cities across the united states. in may 2011, the surge finalized a new coaching structure under the new ownership of khalia collier, owner and general manager. it was at this time that collier implemented the new model of the program, focusing on the character of the player first and talent second. it’s under this model that the surge continues to build championship programs each year, attracting post-graduate players from diverse basketball backgrounds.
