stecher's automotive service has been serving the people of central illinois since 1923. joseph f. stecher opened the original business, stecher's machine works, on madison street in downtown peoria. the business moved to the 1100 block of s.w. adams before landing in its current home at 1006 w. main st. in 1968. that's when joseph g. stecher, son of the company's founder, changed the name to stecher's automotive service. today, the business is owned by robert j. stecher, who runs the company with his son, robert (rob) j. stecher, jr. we have on site a.s.e. certified and qualified technicians to service and repair a variety of vehicles. the business has invested in alldata and napafix computer diagnostic technology, keeping its services on the cutting edge. though the technology has advanced, the family touch remains. you won’t see fancy commercials or billboards from stecher's automotive. we rely instead on word-of-mouth from satisfied customers. generations of peorians have counted o
