stef's celebrate life tailgate (sclt) has raised over $550,000 to support vital breast cancer research and patient assistance at the ohio state university comprehensive cancer center - arthur g. james cancer hospital and richard j. solove research institute (osuccc - james). stefanie spielman began to raise awareness and money for breast cancer shortly after her diagnosis of stage ii breast cancer at age 30 in 1998. by publicly sharing her diagnosis, treatment and participation in clinical trials, she was raising awareness about the importance of having regular mammograms and the need to fund breast cancer research. even though stefanie lost her battle to breast cancer, she “continued to fight and continued to live” by bringing friends and families together to pause for a moment to reflect on how special life was. each year, she held a "tailgate" to celebrate another year of life with ohio state university football, food, music, and backyard fun with friends and family. each year, our
