neniwo/lamifuthi (meaning: “even i” in shona and ndebele) is a non-profit organization that facilitates the education of 33 orphans in zimbabwe. when children have lost parents or care-givers through hiv/aids or any other illness, these children still need to go to school, but they do not have money for fees. the principle behind this organization is that – no matter the circumstances – even these children should be given a chance to be educated. the goal is to facilitate sending as many orphans to school as possible by setting up a system where a specific individual donates money to pay for the school fees and books (only) of an individual child. donations are not used to pay for food, or for rent – only for school fees, books and school uniforms. without at least basic school (primary education) these children will not acquire basic numeracy and literacy skills, and will be permanently disadvantaged. by paying for a child to go to school, you are giving them the chance to become inde
