barcode is a member-driven training programme, which aims to redefine the way we think about alcohol by delivering a national standard of competence within the drinks industry. in the uk there are over 1.5 million bartenders without any basic accredited training and barcode aims to rectify this. barcode is designed to give bartenders the education and training they need in order to do their jobs more effectively and with renewed confidence. each member will have their own online profile and will be required to fill out the barcode essential guide, which covers essential topics all bartenders should know inside out. these include alcohol awareness, responsible alcohol retailing, product knowledge, first-aid awareness, health and safety and licensing law. members will also have their own eportal where they can post photos and videos demonstrating their abilities, search for industry jobs, share best practices, watch training videos and much more. each member will be rewarded with a level
