because we know that about 800 women still die daily from complications of child birth, according to united nations population funds (unfpa) reports, and according to world health organization’s (who) statistics, 45% of postpartum deaths occur within 24 hours, and over 90% of maternal deaths occur in developing countries like nigeria. from years of experience, we also know that most maternal deaths are avoidable, if the health-care solutions, education and supports needed to prevent or manage complications are available. with babbies magazine, we are bridging this gap by providing relevant empowerment and education for pregnant women and needed support to new mothers.
