welcome to backpack east, the backpackers guide to the east of england – that’s cambridgeshire, essex, norfolk and suffolk – 4 beautiful counties north of london and home to some of the most beautiful countryside and coastline in the world. this guide is in the development stage, so we won’t yet have covered everything, in fact we probably never will manage that, but please feel free to recommend places and business owners can submit their own places too. what we are trying to do is concentrate on stuff that backpackers want to do. naturally we’ll list backpackers hostels, campsites and yhas. however we’ll also list glamping sites and other alternative accommodation that seem interesting and novel. in terms of the sights and activities, then we hope to bring you an amazing range of stuff to see, things to do and must attend events. keep returning to see how the directory is progressing and don’t forget to make your own recommendations.
