Bak Basel Economics

bak economics ag (bak) is a private and independent economic research institute based in basel and zurich, switzerland. since 1980 years bak provides analyses, forecasts and consultancy services on an empirical and quantitative level to clients in switzerland, europe and beyond. the research focus lies primarily on macroeconomic as well as industry- and region-specific issues, from a cyclical as well as structural perspective. benchmarking studies focus on international regional comparisons of location quality and economic policy issues. bak was founded in 1980 as a spin-off from basel university. since 1987 it is a limited company and is economically, politically and scientifically independent. the company is directed by marc bros de puechredon (chairman), martin eichler (chief economist) and michael grass.
