stylish, handcrafted wooden sunglasses that support local workers and charities in indonesia. our mission carries four benefits: • our use of bamboo and recycled wood together with our manufacturing process leaves almost zero carbon footprint. bamboo is a fast growing plant (up to a metre a day) that can be harvested efficiently year round. using it causes no damage to the ecosystem whilst all the time releasing approximately one third more oxygen into the atmosphere than a similar area of trees. furthermore, all of the teak and rosewood used in our sunglasses is reclaimed from buildings intended for demolition. recycling these beautiful woods gives them a new lease of life and helps to prevent further logging of the rainforest. even the hinges in our sunglasses are recycled from old motorcycle gear chains. • despite a strong traditional work ethic and innovative local design, many parts of indonesia experience widespread and devastating poverty and they need help. at bambusee, we ensu
