Bangalow Rugby

bangalow may be a small town, but it has a proud rugby tradition. the original bangalow royals played rugby union here before the first world war. the senior club was reformed in 2003 and has had outstanding success, winning the village competition for five years in a row from 2005 to 2009. for the first time in 2007 a junior club was started with a single under 12 team. just four years later, in 2011 there were almost 100 registered players over four teams, under 7s, 10s, 12s, and 15s. the under 15s won the grand final in 2011, bringing bangalow its first junior premiership. for 2012 we hope to have as many as six or seven junior teams ranging from under 7 to under 16. the town is rightly proud of its rugby teams and the club receives excellent local support and press coverage. the club is extensively involved in the local community and is prominent in supporting community events and activities such as the billy cart derby, the christmas festival, the sports ground development and reg
