barclay’s realty & management company was formed in 1972, although the vision and business model was started in 1963 when its founder, ruben poplawski, first moved to los angeles california from his home in mexico city. mr poplawski was a civil engineer by trade and early on in his career he realized that there is a long-term benefit in acquiring and developing a personal commercial real estate portfolio. about 10 years into his vision and portfolio development, mr poplawski developed a need for an asset management firm, this lead to the formation of barclay’s realty & management company. today, barclay's realty & management company is run by ruben's son, eddie poplawski, where ruben's way of doing business is still the driving force and mindset of everyone working in and around the company. over the years barclay’s realty & management has been a part of the management, development, acquisition and/or reposition of more than 10,000,000 square feet of retail, office and industrial prope
