barefaced productions was set up in january 2009 by sally grey, mark rose and mark sands to celebrate british theatre, produce rarely performed ‘hidden gems’ and work with london communities to create and devise new work. every play we produce defines an era in some way. there is a developing theme of theatre 'history' or 'heritage' in our work. celebrated in our productions, this is also reflected in our community projects, which use theatre to explore the personal history and experiences of local people and their neighbourhood. inspired by a renaissance of traditional british theatre and film, our aim is to produce high quality and captivating work. productions in may 2010, we are staging our first hidden gem in john hopkin’s this story of yours at the old red lion in islington. first performed at the royal court in 1969 and made as a film titled the offence in 1974, this story of yours is a brilliant, psychological study of an old fashioned copper investigating the disappearance of
