barley studio was established by managing director keith barley mbe in 1973, and has an international reputation for excellence in stained glass creation and conservation for cathedrals, stately homes, parish churches and prestigious secular buildings across the uk and beyond. the multi-skilled team includes the award-winning artist and designer helen whittaker fmgp, icon accredited conservators (acrs), painters, glaziers and metalworkers. our purpose-built stained glass studio is sited just a few miles from the historic city of york, a treasure-house for stained glass, a craft which has flourished there from the 13th century right up to the present day. we have dedicated areas for creation, conservation, glazing and metalwork, complete with all necessary equipment for safe and efficient working, as well as secure storage and office spaces. every project is unique and so requires an individually tailored approach developed in consultation with our clients, whether devising conservation
