coimhearsnachd bharraidh agus bhatarsaidh ltd (cbab) was established in 2005. it is community owned company with membership open to residents of barra and vatersay. it is managed by a volunteer board of directors drawn from its membership. the company has the vision of “developing the economic, social and cultural sustainability of the local community by harnessing and promoting the quality of local resources, people and environment, for the benefit of all members of the present and future community”. it focuses on empowering and encouraging the local community to take a positive role in addressing the issues that affect them.
