barra and vatersay island produce show was formed in september 2007. it is run on a voluntary basis. the overall objectives of the show are:- 1. run an annual produce show and associated events. 2. raise awareness and promote local produce and skills. barra and vatersay island produce show now has four main areas of focus: • the annual show • barra bunting (started march 2012). a worldwide craft project that unites people that have set foot on the island of barra and vatersay. • croitear og – young crofters (started august 2013). the organisation aims to help the younger generation discover, experience and learn about crofting, rural, island & life skills. for the younger members (8-12years old) croitear og operates through the 2 schools. for the older young people it operated on friday afternoons. the older members have just completed building a skiff do the community along with other community members. croitear og is also in partnership with hebridean living to develop the local food
