barter matchmakers was founded in 2012 by local entrepreneurs chris & nicole colter who knew first-hand the value a local barter exchange could bring to their community. it is a business to business barter and trade exchange with members throughout eastern connecticut & rhode island. we help our members increase cash referrals, generate new customers and pay for existing expenses with their excess capacity. since february 2003 when they launched their first business venture, a franchise – mad science of southeastern ct, the colters have been on the wild ride familiar to all small business owners. lacking a good place to advertise their new business, nicole decided to start a parent-targeted magazine (now called parent bug r-tm symbol) and expanded throughout eastern ct, rhode island, southeastern ma and even into long island, ny with the help of her childhood best friend. the colters successfully built these two totally different businesses in these vastly different markets and at the
