barter & associates, inc. was founded in 1982 as a structural engineering firm by marc s. barter. the original goal of the firm was, and still is today, to provide clients with economical and technically correct solutions to their problems, whether it was the design of new building or the correction of a problem with an existing structure. we accomplish this by employing excellent engineers, technically competent and singularly focused on the client’s problem. our original business plan has not changed: use the best tools we can find to provide the best solution and present it in the most understandable format possible. our business culture does not employ the term “work it out in the field”. we strive to produce accurate, understandable solutions with time spent in the office to avoid unnecessary time spent during construction.
