Base Facility

base is a service and research facility that focuses on the manufacture and use of synthetic dna and rna technologies. base hosts accredited and advanced facilities and equipment, and a team of skilled scientists that believe synthetic nucleic-acid technologies will drive major advances in health, industry and agriculture and underpin the future bioeconomy. with these facilities and expertise, we support academic, translational and commercial researchers across australia. base is located at the australian institute for bioengineering and nanotechnology (aibn), and is proudly supported by the therapeutics innovation australia (tia) and the university of queensland (uq). base is a joint initiative between the national biologics facility (nbf) and the protein expression facility (pef). base also collaborates broadly with research groups across the aibn and uq to provide novel solutions for nucleic-acid packaging and delivery.
