(bop) is a polish joint venture specializing in the production of polyolefins. it was established in 2003 by basell europe holdings b.v. and pkn orlen sa, both of which hold 50 percent of shares in bop. the company is part of the lyondellbasell group (also known as lyondellbasell) and the orlen group. bop is the only polish producer of polyolefins, and is the largest domestic producer of plastics. n płock, bop has two world-class plants for the production of polypropylene and polyethylene. these state-of-the-art facilities are capable of producing 720 thousand tons of resins per year, including 400 thousand tons of polypropylene (pp), produced using the spheripol technology and 320 thousand tons of high - density polyethylene (hdpe), produced using the hostalen technology. both technologies are licensed by a company from the lyondellbasell group. bop also has a plant for the production of low-density polyethylene (ldpe), with annual production output
