Bash:biodigester-Aided Solutions in Haiti

bash is an ngo which is coordinating efforts with the haiti development studies center to implement biodigester technology in southern haiti. we have identified a prospective build site at the pwoje espwa orphanage in les cayes, haiti, and completed a technical evaluation of it and other sites in january 2017. we are currently implementing a pilot biodigester iterative design phase, in which we are testing modular designs at a farm in northern massachusetts and modeling output energetics as a function of design and operational parameters. in addition, we are applying for epa funding to implement novel research into accelerated enzymatic co-digestion platforms. our project pitch was awarded $2000 in funding from the differencemaker idea challenge in april 2016, and $500 in the engineering prototyping competition in december 2016. we were also recognized with a $1000 chancellor's 2020 challenge grant in december 2016.
