basic health international is a non-governmental organization working to improve women's health issues in low- and middle-income countries (lmics). basic health international’s mission is to eradicate cervical cancer globally. we utilize our expertise in women’s health to provide clinical training, research and public policy guidance in the field of cervical cancer screening and treatment, particularly for women in low-resource settings. since 2006, over 20,000 women have been screened for cervical cancer through bhi's health system intervention project in el salvador. bhi's vision in a world where no woman dies of cervical cancer, a preventable disease. our offices are located in new york, pittsburgh and san salvador, el salvador.
