basil hilltribe is the eclectic, fair trade collection of handbags, clothing, and home decor from northern thailand. sourced locally by the hmong hilltribe, all fabric is hand woven/embroidered. hmong tribes live in the north of thailand and have origins from the tibetan area of china. their livelihood has changed from opium farming to traditional handicraft. we are bringing a global look to the west, all while paying fair wages and supporting an artisan community that helps promote women in business and creating lucrative roles for women in their community.
