battle buds is an innovative, supervised mentorship program in nyc with the aim of helping veterans successfully transition into their civilian communities, so that they can become the next community and business leaders. with the support of organizations like team red, white & blue, and institutions such as columbia university teachers college, the battle buds program is well prepared to support recent veterans as they transition into civilian leadership roles in their communities. founded by current and former service members, the battle buds initiative translates elements of similar programs within the armed services and tailors them to proactively engage recent veterans, with the support of trained mentors, as they prepare for leadership roles in both the public and private sectors.
