the real challenge for any entrepreneur or public servant comes when you need to bootstrap initiatives and i’ve done that for a decade. it started when i was an undocumented immigrant and paid my college tuition (and household expenses) by growing our own service cleaning homes in hoboken, all while being an executive director of a community-based nonprofit in nyc giving five annual scholarships to students of ecuadorian background living in the tri-state area. after graduating, i worked at a consulting agency for five years, leading projects for five clients at a time (both their bureaucracy and budgets) including government institutions like the new york state department of state. i’ve also been an advisor for the staten island economic development corporation leading the proposal for traffic-free transit systems that would bring economic development for the west shore and improve people’s commute, all at a fraction of the cost of a subway or light rail system. that’s what i bring to
