Bayside Rowing Club

bayside rowing club was founded in 1880, and revitalized in 1993, to provide recreational and competitive rowing for the toronto community with a specific emphasis on underprivileged, inner-city youth. bayside rowing club partners with community organizations to better engage kids. most successful are its partnerships with toronto police service, toronto district school board, boys & girls clubs of toronto, york university and community centres across the city. in 1995, bayside's president dominic kahn, co-founded with toronto police service's chief bill blair, a rowing program to engage cops and kids that thrives today. the program is called the eric the red rowing league for kids and, in 2014, is celebrating it's 20th anniversary. over 7,500 have participated and graduates of the public school and youth at-risk programs have distinguished themselves both on and off the water. to date bayside rowing alumni have accomplished: 3 inner-city youth rowers graduated harvard university (mast
