a neuropsychological evaluation, as a diagnostic tool, provides a wealth of information on a patient's cognitive and/or behavioral functioning. this is accomplished through a series of tests which assess the integrity of particular brain structures through functional use. often early, or mild stages of dysfunction are not identified with medical imaging. in addition to this, evaluation provides indispensable information to health care providers for patient management. these evaluations often provide unique information about the type and severity of cognitive or behavioral problems as well as any impact they might have on daily life situations.
