baytom produces domestic vegetable oil waste collection machines. domestic vegetable waste oil is mostly not recycled and pollutes the sewage water. cleaning up of 1 liter oil in the sewage costs 2.80 euros, this is twice the amount of new oil. the annual cost of sewage water cleaning attributed to domestic oil waste is about 40 million euros in the netherlands. oil caused blockages in the sewage system cost the dutch economy annually between 20 and 30 million euros. with the classic collection methods households are expected to bring their used oil voluntarily to the collection containers the real practice is that the majority of the household waste oil enters the sewage system. in order to encourage households to recycle their used olie waste, baytom has developed special machines. when consumers deliver their oil into the machine, they will receive a financial incentive either as coins or as coupons/points. government and local authorities can encourage the use of baytom m
