Bach and Beethoven Ensemble

the bach and beethoven experience (bbe) brings artists from different traditions together to collaborate on cross-genre, multidisciplinary projects. like bach, we strive for the ideal. like beethoven, we push boundaries. we combine tradition and innovation: something old, something new. the bbe was formed as the bach and beethoven ensemble in 2009 by a cohort of young musicians, new to chicago and eager for performance opportunities in a saturated music market. they presented 3-5 traditional “early music” concerts a year until 2013, when the group began the process of reorganizing as a nonprofit. today, 1) we focus on making classical music accessible through projects that are relevant, meaningful, and engaging to communities; 2) we collaborate with artists across disciplines (musicians, actors, dancers, visual artists) and traditions (classical, folk, popular) to perform cross-genre, multidisciplinary projects; and 3) we partner with organizations to bring our projects to audiences th
