Bc Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation

we are a registered non-profit that works with bc teachers to provide quality educational resources and programs with a focus on agriculture. our largest program, the bc school fruit and vegetable nutritional program delivers fruit and vegetable snacks to over 523,000 bc students across the province. funded by the bc ministry of health under healthy families bc, the program started as a pilot in 2005 with 10 public schools and now successfully delivers the program to over 1,400 public and first nations schools.the program encourages students to make healthier eating choices, and become more aware of produce grown in bc. some of our other programs include: take a bite of bc - donates local bc product to secondary school teaching kitchens spuds in tubs - provides teachers with the materials to grow their own potatoes in the classroom the summer institute - a 3 credit course that instructs teachers on how to integrate agriculture into the curriculum
