Bc Architects & Studies

bc (brussels cooperation) started in 2006, as a loose cooperation between young brussels architects and artists, which resulted in installations, research projects and open source design networks. bc-as now has 2 organisational structures: bc architects bvba (similar to ltd.) and bc studies vzw (non-profit). bc architects manages the projects which require legal architectural responsability, and is thus an architecural design office in the normal sense. bc studies researches in an independent way how social design and architecture can contribute to contemporary and global zeitgeist. bc studies is active in redefining public space for densifying cities, in reappropriating local material techniques (earth, nature stone, bamboo), and in setting up community based projects facilitating local economy and placemaking. in this approach, bc explicitely chooses to orient its activities internationally. a reflective approach on designing on one hand, or a constructive action in reality on the ot
