whether english is your first language or not, peld is a great way to upgrade your english to enter bcit or other bc post-secondary programs. check with the program or institute you are applying to, to make sure bcit's peld exit course, comm 0005, is accepted as equivalent to english 12. we offer in-person, online, and hybrid classes on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends to fit your schedule. courses are offered at bcit's burnaby and downtown campuses. peld reading and writing courses are about 6-8 weeks long and 12-16 hours each week. our speaking and listening courses can be between 5 to 15 weeks, depending on how many hours you do during the week. from start to finish, the program takes a maximum of 32 weeks of instructional time. so, if you would like to enter a bcit program, you can do that with a maximum of one year in peld classes.
