BCTF - Building and Construction Training Fund

the building and construction industry training organisation (bcito) has recently become the building and construction training fund (bctf). bcito was a not-for-profit entity with a focus on the training and apprenticeship programmes for the trades connected to the building industry (carpentry, painting, glazing etc). the organisation had various stakeholders and was made up of other industry bodies (such as the master builders, master painters etc). as of the 4th of october, 2021, the operations and the 400+ staff members of bcito have moved into the government entity te pukenga where all industry training organisations (ito’s) are being amalgamated over the next 24 months. this has resulted in the old bcito entity (which is now the bctf) with a renewed focus on philanthropic causes that assist the construction industry (utilising the sizable capital fund left over after the transition).
