Beacon-5g

beacon-5g is project consortium collaborating on addressing the uk government's 5g diversification challenge. the consortium brings together global technology leaders, tier 1 international o-ran suppliers, a prominent uk 5g core network provider, a uk centre of excellence in cyber resilience, a leading uk network security research institute, and public sector organizations with digital transformation agendas. the project investigates various technological innovations toward some of the main functional priority areas identified by the dcms for meeting the objectives of the 5g diversification strategy. beacon-5g aims to design an end-to-end 5g system, aligned with open ran framework and principles, with new and crucial capabilities for meeting future dense urban requirements, and to conduct its technology trials in real-world environments.
