Beads of Awareness

beads of awareness (boa) is a socially responsible business that offers unique, handmade jewelry made from recycled paper beads by artisans in uganda, which operates in montreal qc and northern uganda. we support small business initiatives, education, and micro finance to assist in poverty reduction, and individual empowerment. our mission is to promote an alternative form of globalization rooted in the values of equity, sustainability, cooperation and empowerment. we work towards this mission by supporting ugandan artisans and paying them a fair wage for their products as well as by raising money for grassroots development projects in uganda. 50% of all our profits goes towards our livelihood and empowerment initiatives. additionally, we are raising awareness about the people in northern uganda and their struggles recovering from the devastation of a civil war. ----- beads of awareness (boa) est une entreprise socialement responsable, qui offre des bijoux uniques, fabriqués à la main
