beama visuals is an independent production company based in calgary, alberta canada. it began in 2008 as a series of experiments in visual performance between founders dillon butz and darren caulfield at local electronic music events. they saw a growing demand for visual and environmental design that matched the originality of the sound in the concert circuit, as well as the opportunity to push the envelope with the creative application of new media technologies. purchasing beama’s first projectors, they began working regularly at local shows and music festivals, then in 2010, they were invited to manage the video production for shambhala music festival’s iconic pagoda stage.
