Bearkat Rugby Alumni Association

the bearkat rugby alumni association (braa), formerly the rugby alumni of sam houston (rash), was created in 1978. in july 2018 i determined, in order to better meet the goals of the association, that the club should become a registered 501(c)3 with the state of texas. with this change, the name of the alumni association changed to the braa and became a non-profit entity, separate from the shsu rugby club, with no affiliation with the university. the main goal of the braa is to support the shsu rugby club financially and to lessen administrative burdens on the club’s coaches, leaders and managers. the braa spends a significant amount of time coordinating events, fundraisers, and creating apparel and other goods to support the club’s needs for equipment, travel, etc.
