two decades since the internationally renowned 90's rave scene in melbourne drew to a close, beat repeat looks back to replay that significant time in house, acid house and techno history whilst integrating illustrious modern day electronic music acts. the rave movement created a communal rejection of ideologies pushed on what electronic music culture should be confined to. exclusivity went out the window and diy parties soared in regularity and popularity. many have looked back on this time but few have looked to recreate it. beat repeat is landing on russell street, brunswick - a suburb that hosted notorious dance parties in the 90's. this time, we're taking to the streets and creating a new chapter. detroit house music was widely known for its roots in promoting rights and respect for queer and black communities; this derived from the disco movement and created experimental music minds to turn to the next chapter, arriving at world class techno. house, acid house and techno wer
