the most important member of our team is the dental hygienist. dental hygiene and its proper implementation can prevent both tooth decay and gum disease. although the last decade has seen an enormous fall in the incidence of tooth decay, an alarming increase in diagnosed gum disease, claiming often perfectly healthy teeth, supports the need for good hygiene treatment and care at home. it is the responsibility of our hygienist to explain how to implement your own home care programme, to encourage you to look after your teeth properly and, when necessary, apply corrective treatment. the hygienist will also provide dietary advice.
