because of hope (boh) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to sustainably empower widows and orphans in uganda, as well as raise a compassionate global awareness in our local communities. we believe in uniting people across continents and cultures in order to work together to end poverty and promote holistic development. we are based in santa barbara, ca, and work in three villages outside of jinja, uganda. the beads project: boh is partnered with a ugandan organization in a beads project. ugandan women are taught how to make beaded jewelry from recycled paper. the beads project empowers ugandan women, particularly widows, with an income-generating skill, giving them the opportunity to support their families. boh student scholarship (bssp) we strongly believe every person should have the opportunity to receive an education. education has an essential role in bringing an end to poverty. students who are able to consistently attend school and graduate have many more possibilitie
