the bedford & milton keynes waterway park trust was established in 1995 to promote the development of a broad waterway which, will link the grand union canal in milton keynes to the river great ouse in bedford. creating britain's first major waterway in a century providing a cross-country link, that connects east and west opens up the marston vale region and, provides amenities and opportunities for communities in the rapidly-developing milton keynes south midlands area. this will be done through a series of waterway parks, including pathways and green space designed to meet the needs of walkers, cyclists and fisherman, delivered by a consortium of local authorities, navigation authorities and charities, including the trust. the key role of the trust is to mobilise public support for the project. bedford & milton keynes waterway trust is a charity and company limited by guarantee, designed to "promote and assist in the provision and maintenance of a new waterway and associated faciliti
