established in 1944, bedford college is a not-for-profit registered training organisation with a reputation for high-quality training in a small, caring environment. whilst the college has a christian ethos, enrolled students come from a wide variety of races, religions, cultures and beliefs. an open access and equity policy governs the enrolment practices and the college is committed to inclusiveness and mutual respect for all. bedford's voluntary (10 member) board of directors are drawn from a range of industries and professional backgrounds and a number of members have strong links with the education sector. having been established during the 2nd world war, the main purpose of the college was to support the country’s dwindling workforce by training young ladies to fill gaps in the business sector caused as a result of the menfolk going away to war. over the last 70+ years bedford college has evolved; from a small secretarial college for girls to an up-market, modern training facilit
