Behind the Business

startups are a hot topic these days and they are covered in many media outlets - but, what usually isn't covered is the personal trials and tribulations of the founders. it's all well and good to discuss business metrics and performance, but sometimes it's more important to focus on the personal sacrifices made and level of determination required to make it in this space. i have spent the past two years consulting for startups at a large firm and it's obvious to me that these stories are not shared because the right questions are not posed. the purpose of this blog is two-fold. the first is to document founder's sacrifices, successes and lessons learned. the second is to encourage, inspire and prepare budding entrepreneurs before they embark on their own venture.
