being is the new face of nsw cag, supporting people with a lived experience of mental illness to achieve systemic change. our new identity represents the connected network of people who make up the mental health/wellbeing space. being works from the premise that the participation of mental health consumers in systemic advocacy leads to the development of more effective public policy and facilitates individual recovery. our vision is for all people with a lived experience of mental illness to participate as valued citizens in the communities they choose. our purpose is to ensure that mental health consumer views are heard by policy makers, service providers and the community, through promoting consumer participation in relevant policy making and service development decisions.
