Belfast Pride Festival

belfast pride festival aims to promote equality, visibility and inclusion for the lgbtq+ community in belfast. during the first belfast pride in 1991, there were no more than 100 people. in 2013, more than 50,000 people filled the streets of belfast and in 2014, the festival grew to include a record number of 80 events across ten days. in our 25th anniversary year (2015) we continue to build upon the success over the years, delivering a dynamic and diverse programme of events for all. the festival offers a ten-day programme of events, culminating on pride day with the annual pride parade through the streets of belfast city centre, party in the square and pride village. pride is celebrated around the world near the anniversary of the stonewall riots in new york city in june 1969, which marked the start of the modern fight for equality of rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (lgbt) people. for more information about belfast pride festival and how to get involved/support, p
